What is live-in care?

This is a support and care you receive in your home while enjoying the benefits of your independence and lifestyle. Live-in care supports people living with dementia, the elderly, and adults with complex medical needs on a one-to-one basis on their terms.

When you subscribe to live-in care, you will get a carer who will stay in your home to support and care for you when needed. Imagine the comfort and peace of mind that comes with knowing that you have someone to care for you at your beck and call.

A carer can provide the following daily services and more:

  • One-to-one care and medication support
  • Companionship and support
  • Meeting your dietary and nutritional needs
  • Complex care like PEG feeding or catheter management
  • Housekeeping and other everyday domestic tasks

The amount you pay for a live-in care depends on your personal needs. Our 24-hour carer services has a starting price of:

  • £1,075 per week for a single person
  • £1,375 per week for a couple

For couples who need live-in care, they may have to pay a little more than 24-hour care for a single person. Several funding options can cover the cost of a live-in care.

Benefits of live-in care

  • Peace of mind for older adults

A home carer can assist the elderly, particularly those that are frail or too weak to move around. With a live-in carer, an elderly person can rest assured of having someone to cook their meals, give medications, offer emergency help, and most importantly, a continuous companionship.

  • People having dementia

The anxiety and challenging behaviour associated with dementia can be lowered with the support of a familiar face. You will have your primary carer around for weeks, and if they want to take some time off, you will be introduced to a regular relief carer.

We have an expert team of dementia specialists that can help manage dementia-related behaviours. It is our aim to understand the causes of dementia and provide appropriate support in the form of visual prompts for rooms and people, special tips for mealtimes, and rewarding activities like designing a life story book.

Since we belong to the Dementia Action Alliance, we are constantly seeking ways to provide the best support for people having different types of dementia.

  • Other health conditions

Our specialist carers can provide support for different conditions such as diabetes, Huntington's disease, depression, motor neurone disease, anxiety, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, support after a stroke, Alzheimer's, and more.

We have bespoke care plans that can assist your living within your terms. Our team of registered nurses will provide extra aid when needed, plus you can get help with brain injury, or spinal injury from our clinical carers.

What's more? Our trained palliative carers can support people nearing the end of their lives. From providing special support for daily activities, they can ensure a peaceful passing for you or your loved ones.

  • Temporary post-operation support

A live-in carer is capable of providing temporary care after you might have undergone an operation like hip or knee operation. Even after an accident, your carer can help you recuperate, cook your meals, and perform housekeeping duties. They can even help you with strengthening exercises in accordance with your physiotherapist's advice.

  • Round-the-clock care

This is a personal service where you or your family member get to receive special support; one that suits your present lifestyle and daily routine
